The SPIN Foundation today announced it will manage the Sports Power Infrastructure Fund, a national community investment initiative that helps companies, government agencies, utilities, foundations, and nonprofit organizations invest in workforce development, entrepreneurship, and measurable community impact through the universal language of sports.

The Sports Power Infrastructure Fund serves as the community investment arm of the Sports Power Infrastructure ecosystem, creating a trusted framework for organizations to support residents, athletes, schools, nonprofit organizations, and local businesses while documenting measurable economic and social outcomes. By combining community engagement, data, and local partnerships, the Fund helps investors identify community priorities and direct resources where they create the greatest long term impact.
The Fund will initially focus on two signature investment initiatives:
- Athlete Scholarships (Ages 13–24): Providing scholarships that help student athletes pursue higher education, workforce training, industry certifications, leadership development, internships, and career pathways that prepare them for success beyond the game.
- Athlete Led Business Grants: Providing grants and business growth resources to companies owned or led by current and former athletes to accelerate entrepreneurship, create jobs, strengthen local economies, and expand community impact.
Unlike traditional grant programs, the Sports Power Infrastructure Fund is designed to create lasting partnerships between industry and communities. Through Sports Power Infrastructure technology, residents, athletes, students, workers, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations help identify local priorities, providing investors with valuable insights that guide workforce, economic development, and community benefit investments.
"The Sports Power Infrastructure Fund creates a new model for community investment. When residents have a voice in identifying local priorities, organizations can invest with greater confidence, build stronger partnerships, and create measurable outcomes that improve lives while strengthening local economies."
— Tenicka Chaney, Managing Director, Athletes Make The Best™ and Commissioner, Sports Power Infrastructure
The SPIN Foundation will oversee fund administration, investment stewardship, scholarship and grant administration, nonprofit partnerships, reporting, and impact measurement while collaborating with Sports Power Infrastructure to deliver community engagement, technology, analytics, and performance reporting. Together, the organizations provide investors with a transparent framework that demonstrates measurable community benefit while strengthening workforce pipelines, supporting athlete entrepreneurship, and expanding economic opportunity.
"The Sports Power Infrastructure Fund reflects our belief that sports can become one of the most powerful drivers of educational opportunity, entrepreneurship, and community investment. By investing in student athletes and businesses led by athletes, we are helping build stronger local economies while creating pathways that empower the next generation to succeed both on and beyond the playing field."
