FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Inaugural Program to Run July 13 to 17, 2026 Across New York City and Long Island

Sports Power Infrastructure today announced the launch of the Sports, Media and Infrastructure Academy, a one-week immersive training and competition program preparing student-athletes in grades 5 through 12 and interns ages 18 to 24 for careers in commercial, industrial, and digital infrastructure. The inaugural program will run July 13 to 17, 2026 across New York City and Long Island as a featured event of Summer of Sports + Infrastructure, an economic and workforce development series connecting the reach of sports with trillions in active infrastructure investment reshaping the United States and the Caribbean. The defining challenge is no longer capital. It is alignment across local suppliers, workforce participation, and community benefit initiatives. The Academy is its flagship talent development program.

Each team of five student-athletes is sponsored by an Official Team Sponsor who commits to funding full team participation for the week. Teams operate as the Supplier, Workforce, and Community Development team for their Official Team Sponsor, executing real business challenges across supplier and workforce outreach, media production, data collection, and professional readiness. Long Island-based civil development firm Condos Brothers Construction has signed on as the Official Yellow Team Sponsor, becoming the first Official Team Sponsor of the inaugural program.

Teams complete their verified Sports Power Rating Assessment on Monday and on Tuesday learn, tour, and conduct media storytelling at an active infrastructure project site of their Official Team Sponsor. On Wednesday teams open at the Sports, Utilities, Energy, Construction and Technology Breakfast before heading to the World Cup Fan Fest at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, where they conduct live interviews with current and retired athletes and discover professional pathways connecting sports to infrastructure careers. Teams execute full media production operations at pop-up studios on Thursday. The week closes Friday with a live championship premiere where verified Sports Power Ratings are publicly announced and the team with the highest combined score out of 100 points is crowned Summer League Champions.

The program is produced and operated by 501(c)(3) nonprofit The SPIN Foundation under license from Sports Power Infrastructure.
