Start the Survey and Shape the Future
NEWARK, N.J., — As part of Ivy Hill Soccer Fest, powered by the NJ World Cup Community Initiative, the Ivy Hill Neighborhood Association (IHNA) and Sports Power Infrastructure (SPI) launched Sports Power Infrastructure Savings + Rewards. The program extends the legacy of the World Cup by helping Newark residents save money, access workforce opportunities, and improve their quality of life through trusted public and private sector programs.
The initiative invites Newark residents, families, current and retired athletes, seniors, job seekers, and business owners to complete a one-minute community needs survey for a chance to win a $1,000 Gift Card provided by The SPIN Foundation. The survey connects participants with programs that help reduce household expenses and improve financial well-being through lower energy costs, heating and cooling upgrades, home improvements, internet and mobile services, health insurance, Medicare, dental and vision benefits, electric vehicles and charging, battery backup, employment opportunities, career training, business financing, government contracting opportunities, and sports and entertainment rewards. One winner will be randomly selected at 5 p.m. at the IHNA International Food and Music Festival.
The initiative was introduced during the Sports Power Infrastructure Combine at Ivy Hill Soccer Fest, where more than 125 student-athletes participated in sports performance testing, education and career readiness assessments, mentorship, and career exploration across industries including energy, utilities, construction, manufacturing, broadband, healthcare, maritime, tourism, and television and film.
"When we created Ivy Hill Soccer Fest, our goal was to create an impact that extended far beyond the World Cup," said Dwayne Wilkins, Board President of the Ivy Hill Neighborhood Association. "Through our partnership with Sports Power Infrastructure, we are connecting residents to savings, career opportunities, workforce training, business resources, and programs that strengthen our community."
Survey responses will help guide future community investments, workforce initiatives, and neighborhood partnerships while documenting the lasting impact of the NJ World Cup Community Initiative beyond the tournament. The results will be shared in a Community Impact Report to be released in September 2026.
