NORTHPORT, NY — Athletes Make the Best" Media and Career Day, an exclusive professional development pop up series stopping in Northport to feature Long Island middle and high school athletes in partnership with This is Long Island and EBE Sports, showcases how athletic background and mindset translate into thriving careers within and beyond sports using media and commerce.
Hosted at the newly constructed Dream Seat Studio in Northport, this event brings together current and retired athletes who have navigated careers in utility, energy, technology, and construction, along with sports media professionals and career mentors to provide guidance to student athletes exploring exciting opportunities whether planning for summer employment, internships, trade school, or college post-secondary pathways.

Media and Career Day is specifically designed for athletes to explore professional opportunities, build skills, and develop an early understanding of careers in and beyond sports.
Student athletes will register to network with employers from the IWA Future Ready program, a workforce development initiative connecting students with career pathways in infrastructure and emerging industries. They will meet with industry leaders and conduct interviews at Dream Seat Studio in Northport. During the event, participants will create short form media content sharing their education and career goals, professionally produced by This Is Long Island Media in partnership with Athletes Make the Best. This unique platform gives young athletes the opportunity to tell their own stories while gaining exposure to industry professionals and potential employers.
Small group sessions connect student athletes directly with professionals actively shaping the workforce landscape. Real world athlete success stories demonstrate tangible pathways from school competition to thriving careers in infrastructure, sports, and media. Resume reviews and career coaching sessions provide direct feedback and mentorship from industry professionals and college scouts.

Long Island based EBE Sports is hosting the We All We Got Long Island Boys and Girls Basketball All Star Game on June 6, 2026 at LUHI Main Gym in Brookville, featuring elite athletes from Nassau and Suffolk counties competing in Varsity Girls, Next Gen, and Varsity Boys competitions. The "Athletes Make the Best" Media and Career Day builds on this momentum, positioning student athletes at the heart of Long Island's sports and workforce development ecosystem.
