Across the United States, current and former athletes are applying the discipline, teamwork, and leadership developed through sports to careers that strengthen communities and inspire future generations.
The Athletes Make The Best List™ Community Champions series recognizes outstanding professionals across four categories: Teachers, Coaches, Referees, and Personal Trainers across the United States.
Two national workforce statistics underscore the importance of these professions. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, approximately 3.2 million public school teachers serve students across the United States. Meanwhile, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projected 14% employment growth for fitness trainers and instructors from 2023 to 2033, highlighting the growing demand for fitness professionals.
These careers demonstrate how athletic experience creates opportunities beyond competition. Teachers educate future generations. Coaches develop talent and character. Referees promote fairness and accountability. Personal trainers help individuals improve their health and performance.
