I. Athlete Workforce Index™
The Athlete Workforce Index™ evaluates how strongly athlete aligned leadership behaviors appear across your organization. It measures workforce traits shaped by competitive sports experience across five CLEAR™ Dimensions, capturing competition, leadership, engagement, athleticism, and representation.
The CLEAR™ Framework
Your organization’s athlete aligned leadership profile is measured across five one word Dimensions that form the CLEAR™ model.
- C — Competition: Exposure to high pressure, high stakes competitive environments.
- L — Leadership: How athletic experience translates into influence and decision making.
- E — Engagement: Performance pedigree, achievement, and ongoing sports involvement.
- A — Athleticism: Depth and consistency of athletic experience across the workforce.
- R — Representation: Range of sports represented and the performance traits they build.
Athlete Workforce Index | Score Interpretation (0–100)
- 0–20 — Minimal Athlete Alignment: Very limited presence of athlete aligned leadership behaviors. Athletic traits appear rarely or only within isolated individuals.
- 21–40 — Emerging Athlete Alignment: Athlete aligned traits exist but are not yet widespread. Certain teams demonstrate strong behaviors, but patterns are inconsistent across the organization.
- 41–60 — Moderate Athlete Alignment: A balanced mix of athlete aligned and non athlete aligned behaviors. Athletic influence is visible across multiple teams and contributes meaningfully to culture and performance.
- 61–80 — Strong Athlete Alignment: Athlete aligned leadership behaviors are common across the workforce. Athletic experience meaningfully shapes culture, decision making, and performance expectations.
- 81–100 — Exceptional Athlete Alignment: A deeply athlete aligned workforce. Athletic backgrounds and behaviors are widespread, and athlete driven leadership is a defining element of culture, performance, and organizational identity.
II. Best Companies Certification Tiers
Certification is based on the percentage of employees who complete the Athlete Workforce Index™ assessment. Higher participation reflects stronger commitment to athlete aligned leadership and qualifies companies for Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze recognition.
Tiers (with Participation Requirements)
- Platinum — 60%+ company employee participation
- Gold — 50–59% company employee participation
- Silver — 40–49% company employee participation
- Bronze — 30–39% company employee participation
